Governor Parsons canceled school for the remainder of the year, but learning is expected to continue through the normal end date for each individual district. Teachers in the New Haven School District will continue to provide educational opportunities through May 20th. Meals will also continue to be provided throughout the closure. It is our understanding that a separate decision will be made at a later date about the possibility of having summer school this year.
We are unsure if this closure forces us to reschedule graduation, but it is our goal to postpone events such as kindergarten graduation, prom, and high school graduation instead of simply canceling them. Rescheduled dates will be determined using guidance from public health officials and possible dates could be during the summer months.
