Summer Newsletter 2018
Posted on 07/20/2018
NewsletterDear Parents, Students, and Community Members,

We hope you’re enjoying the summer months and are finding opportunities to spend time with family and friends. Although students are not currently in attendance, summer is a busy time in the New Haven School District. Our custodial and maintenance crews are preparing buildings for school, and our office staff members are completing the yearly financial statements. As always, the district office is open for business and ready to answer any questions you might have.

We will have a few staff changes as we begin the year. Peggy Borcherding retired after serving the district for 41 years and will be replaced by Gretal Ehrhard as the high school secretary. Teaching changes include Danielle Anderson moving to K-2 special education and welcoming Samantha Caton (MS special education), Rachel Wray (HS special education), Stephanie Scheer (MS math), and Rachel Horstmann (speech) to our staff as new hires. Classified new hires include LuAnn Luecke (paraprofessional), Kristin Stiers (paraprofessional), and Natasha Skirvin (cook).

School starts in just a few weeks, and back-to-school events will begin in the very near future.  Returning high school student registration will begin on July 31st.  New student registration will take place on August 6th for the high school and middle school and on August 8th for the elementary school.  Open House for students and parents will be on Monday, August 13. The elementary school open house will be 5-7pm and the HS/MS open house will be 6-8pm. The first day of school will be Wednesday, August 15. Any students that are new to the district are asked to call or stop by the elementary, middle, or high school offices after August 1. The phone number for the elementary office is (573) 237-2141, the middle school office can be reached at (573) 237-2900, and the high school office phone number is (573) 237-2629.

We’re looking forward to a great school year. I hope you are, as well. If you have a suggestion, comment, or question, please call central office at (573) 237-3231, or check out our website at http://newhavenschools.org. We look forward to hearing from you.
